Until the discovery of microscopic organisms that cause food spoilage, one of the main problems in long journeys and wars was the safe storage of food. During the time of Napoleon Bonaparte, extensive studies were started in France to solve this problem. The big prizes for the inventor of a food preservation method were very interesting. For this reason, many people and scientists tried to do something in this field, the result was that a person named Nicolas Appert managed to present the method of storing food in closed containers for the first time, and in 1810, he won the prize caught, thus the canning industry came into being in the world.
In Iran, the first canned fish production factory was established in Bandar Abbas in 1316, and the production of canned fish in its current
form expanded in Iran around 1347; At that time, there were about two or three brands in the market, which mainly reached special
consumption; It was during these years that the Russians in the present Qaimshahr committed to the production of canned beans and
produced the first canned food for the army. Karon Sharq brand, which was owned by the late Stepanian and produced canned caviar-eggplant in those years, can be considered one of the first canned brands in Iran.
The production formula of this canned food was imported from Russia, and this company also launched other types of canned food on the market.
But this brand did not last long after the death of the original owner and its factory was closed. After that, a company named “Ataco” by a
person named Abulqasem Azimi started the production of canned goods under the brand name “Ata”, after that the brand “Shamshad”
owned by Haj Hasan Madani was launched. After a few years and with the emergence of well-known figures in the field of canned food
production, well-known brands such as Chin Chin, One and One, Mahram, and Khoshab Khorasan entered the field.
After that, other brands, such as Behrooz, Delpazir, Orum Ada, etc., entered this field. In 1351, due to the necessity that was felt, a number
of veterans of the country’s canning industry, including Mr. Madani, Piraysh, Karamian, Stepanian, Zahiri, Quds Taynet, Khushgovar, tried to establish an active union organization to establish the necessary platform for Provide intra-union interactions between the activists of
this industry and extra-organizational communication with related organizations and executive bodies, and maintain collective rights and
interests, and improve the economic status of canning industry In this way, ;employers, which in turn protects the interests of society
the Iran Canning Industries Syndicate was founded and Mr. Shirazi was elected as the first secretary of the syndicate. Food canning, which is
considered to be one of the convenient and common methods of longterm preservation of these materials, has enjoyed relatively favorable
growth and development in recent years in our country; The Syndicate of Canning Industries of Iran is one of the most important and oldest
non-governmental organizations by attracting canning production units and is currently engaged in providing services in the canning industry of the country.
